How Geometry Shapes Blood Flow
Blood vessels aren't simple pipes. They twist, branch, narrow, and balloon — and these shapes dramatically affect hemodynamics. Wall shear stress (WSS) varies across geometries: low in aneurysm bulges (stagnation), high at stenosis constrictions (acceleration), disturbed at bifurcation branch points. Where flow becomes abnormal, endothelial cells dysfunction follows.
